Culture Night 2025 in Copenhagen October 10th

10. October 2025

Communities and Quality of Life – with Open House, ‘Conversation Soup’ and a Heartfelt Concert. At Realdania, a Danish philanthropic association, communities and quality of life are at the heart of what we do – and on Culture Night, we invite you to experience it up close.

Step inside our newly renovated house in Nordic 1950s modernist style, where we work to enhance quality of life for all by developing cities, buildings and the built environment. Enjoy the classic design, the warm wood tones and colours that reflect the building’s history. Access to everything with the Culture Pass. Warm up – and talk to other people – over a bowl of 'conversation soup' served from our field kitchen and enjoy an intimate concert with a Danish artist known for heartfelt performances. The artist’s name will be revealed prior to the Culture Night.

Talks (in Danish) will challenge how Danes think about cohabitation and neighbourliness, while a quiz shines a spotlight on the buildings that bring people together.

Our Quality of Life – a conversation (in Danish)
18:30–19:00

Are Danes truly happy – and what can we learn from those who are? Author Knud Romer and Realdania’s Head of Analysis, Henrik Mahncke, explore what shapes our quality of life. The discussion takes its starting point in the book ‘Vores Livskvalitet’ (‘Our Happiness’) . Free copies of the book (in Danish) will be available to take home.

Architecture Quiz with Adrian Hughes (in Danish)
19:30–20:00

Are you smarter than the architects? Four experts go head-to-head in a fast-paced quiz on the architecture of community. With humour and high energy, Journalist Adrian Hughes keeps the pace – even miming iconic buildings. Be ready to jump in when the audience gets their turn!

Based on a concept by the Danish Architecture Centre.

The Neighbour from Hell? Talk in Danish
20:30–21:00

Good neighbours make life better – they support each other and contribute to the community. But poor neighbour relations can seriously impact your wellbeing. Realdania’s study ‘Vores Livskvalitet’ (‘Our Happiness’) highlights just how important neighbours are. Featuring Kristine Virén, Head of Communication at Bolius, and Malene Eigtved from the Mediation Institute. Moderator: Journalist Michael Kamber.
